The Pittston Township Ambulance Association, centrally located in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre metropolitan corridor of Luzerne County, northeastern Pennsylvania USA, is a community non-profit Emergency Medical Service (EMS) serving a residential population of approximately 3,500 and an estimated transient population of 70 to 80 thousand persons daily. The coverage area is 17 sq. miles and contains four major highways (PA Highway Route 315, US Route 11, Interstate 81 and Interstate 476 Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike), three growing industrial parks, the Wilkes Barre/Scranton International Airport , a Juvenile Detention Center and two rapidly expanding retail districts. There is a combination of different zoned areas that includes residential, commercial/industrial, rural and wooded.
